Ram Gidoomal

Ram Gidoomal is chair of the South Asian Concern and SHEIN External Advisory SRG Board. He is a board member of movement.org (formerly the New York City Leadership Centre co-founded by Tim Keller and Mac Pier) and the Whole Word Institute, which trains Bible translators in biblical Hebrew and is based in Israel.

Ram is a trustee of the Word and Worship Trust and co-produced the albums Songs of the Kingdom and Asia Worships, both with Kingsway. He is honorary vice president of The Leprosy Mission of England and Wales, and honorary member of the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University

Ram is the author of several books, including “Sari n Chips,” “The UK Maharajahs,” “The British and How to Deal with them – Doing Business with Britain’s Ethnic Communities,” “How Would Jesus Vote?” and his memoir: “MY SILK ROAD–The Achievements and Struggles of a British Asian Refugee.”

Past roles include chair of The Lausanne Movement International board, Allia Ltd. Fair Trade pioneers Traidcraft plc, Cotton Connect Ltd. and UK Group chief executive and vice chair of the Inlaks Group, an international niche food production and marketing company with 7,000 employees in 15 countries.

Ram was a board member of the International Justice Mission; council member of the UK Evangelical Alliance; crown appointee to the Court and Council of Imperial College; vice chair of the St. Georges University Medical School; external member of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee for the UK Equalities and Human Rights Commission; visiting professor of entrepreneurship at Middlesex University; honorary vice president of the Institute of Business Ethics; companion of the Chartered Management Institute; and co-founder of the Christmas Cracker Charity Trust, which engaged more than 50,000 young people in churches in the UK to raise $10 million for good causes in the developing world. 

Ram joined the Cook Media Global board of trustees in January 2025. He and his wife have three children and seven grandchildren. He is a member, former elder and chair of trustees of Chiltern Church in Sutton, England.
